Diagnostic Differentiation:
TCM:
The patient suffered dysfunction of his left side body, foot
drop of his left foot, which should be among the category of
Flaccidity - syndrome (FS) in TCM. Qi deficiency could cause
weakness over his left side body, chest depress and shortness of
breath. Therefore, qi deficiency led to stasis of blood and
blockage of channels and meridians. So, dysfunction of
functional movement of the limbs happened. The yang-deficiency
of spleen and kidneys presented the symptoms of coldness of the
hands and feet, diarrhea, many times of night urination. Qi
deficiency and blood stasis led to heat generated inside the
body; and then, we could find reddish tongue and rapid pulse of
the patient. According to the above analysis, the patient’s
condition should be Flaccidity - syndrome (FS) due to the
deficiency of qi and stasis of blood as well as yang-deficiency
of spleen and kidneys.
